A quilt for Chris and Aga.

Knowing that you met and married in Poland, you work there and have your home there I wanted your wedding gift to reflect this. So I spent sometime thinking how to do this – and nothing worked. It was only when I was working on another project which involved oblong pieces that a plan came to mind. It was based around the colours in the Polish Flag – red and white. White is not easy in textile quilted pieces – so I used the palest grey I could find. I then found some oblong pieces from another project, which gave me an idea – and I added black.

It was only when it was complete that I realized that I had produced a modern version of a traditional pattern called Trip Around the World. I knew that Chris had travelled while teaching English as a foreign language – and that this is how he met Aga.

I hope that this shows the not quite a trip around the world but the English / Polish part of your wedding and relationship.

Aga – I have heard lovely things about you from Caroline and Tony and I do hope that we meet one day.
