This is the piece I started quilting shortly before our holiday.

It is the same design as Guantanamo in different colours. It was sewn together shortly before we left for Patmos in 2014 and I was thinking about the island, the people and our time there.

I started to quilt it just before our holiday this year.

On return I looked at it and could see the influence of Patmos – the blues, greens, the greys of the buildings and the yellow of the sunshine.

It is now with Barbara and Dave at their home in New Zealand - and they see the sunshine in it.
