When we first visited Patmos small ferry boats lined up along the front of Scala ready to transport the visitors to the beaches.

We used to take one to the beach at Agrilivado and have many happy memories of the journey - including one when two of the ferry boats had a race back. I can not remember if we were in the winning boat!

Inspired by the film Shirley Valentine, a middled-aged Liverpudlian follows her dreams to travel to Greece, to sit by the sea drinking Retsina. She dives from a fishing boat under the sun into waters as deep as for ever - and rediscovers the girl she used to be.
