Quakers place much emphasis on the Light. We talk about holding people in the Light when they are facing life-changing circumstances. We trust that the Light of the Spirit is in us all and will be there for us all, whenever needed.

Yet we know that for many the Light will be experienced when their bodies are in captivity – and we all may struggle to be true to that Light. We can all find ourselves trapped in our own bonds. Bars constrain us.
